About the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics is designed to provide students with a general understanding of mathematical and logical concepts. We want our students to be able to demonstrate mathematical imagination grounded in intellectual independence and to be empowered to lead and serve sovereign Tribal Nations with an enhanced ability to apply logic and think quantitatively.

We have math for everyone’s needs. Our general education mathematics courses are designed to provide substantive skills in quantitative and abstract reasoning. Our mathematics courses for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are designed to provide a strong foundation in mathematics suitable for further study, research, or a career in mathematics or other STEM career path.
